Guiding Organizational Change Simulation

Guiding Organizational Change is a critical skill that executives, leaders and project managers must have! Many project leaders and managers have formal training and credentials in the profession. But not many of us have been specially trained in organizational and personal change, even though we are the original change agents!

In their origin and execution, projects both cause change and result from change. It is their purpose to change things…Projects lie at the core of organization change. We expect a project to improve things in an organization, but we sometimes forget that it does so at the cost of disrupting familiar routines.

This three-day simulation workshop is an advanced course for experienced project managers. It is specifically designed to do two things: (1) to exercise your complete range of project management technical training and expertise as you manage a significant corporate project, and (2) to develop a valuable new set of skills that few have - how to guide others through the unsettling distress of major changes to their organization, ways of doing work, and personal life.

The workshop will give you actual, real-time experience with multiple, simultaneous, overlapping organizational and personal changes. In it you will learn practical skills that will help you and your project team get through changes faster, with less pain, and with better outcomes.

You will learn the difference between change and transition, and why a change is not complete until the transition is complete. You will learn that transition is a step-by-step process and that everyone goes through all of the steps. You will learn that all change is personal, even organization change. And that until everyone has completed their personal transitions, the organization will not change.

You will learn the five-stage creative process, and how it is essential to making transitions. How a transition cannot proceed without the insight, and the vision, that comes out of the creative process.

You will learn the LEVER principle; five kinds of actions you can take to help your project employees through the transition. You will learn how to cross points of no return, making final decisions as you go, limiting your options, and making irrevocable commitments that enable forward progress through your transitions.

The difference between an average project manager and an outstanding one can often be traced to their level of "people skills". This workshop is a dynamic and challenging way to make a quantum leap in those skills-as they apply to organization changes brought about by project managers.

Applied Hands-on Skills
In this groundbreaking workplace simulation, you will actually experience, practice, and become naturally skilled in the application of:

  • The transition process.
  • The creative process.
  • Leveraging transitions.
  • Points of no return.
  • Guiding others through their transitions.
