Project Leadership

Project Leadership, Team-building and Communication teaches the fundamental differences between managing and leading a team. This course discusses the importance of utilizing “soft” people skills in project management. Project success is dependent on the ability of project managers to work with people.

Receive 8 to 16 Professional Developement Units ( PDU ®) with the Project Management Institute PMI ® for attending this course.

This one or two-day course provides participants opportunities to develop technical skills necessary in:
1. Understanding Leadership vs Management
Learn the importance of leadership and communication skills to complement technical management skills
2. Building the Project Team
Learn to provide people the ability to perform and accomplish project management tasks
3. Establishing Vision and Direction
Create appropriate alignment among your team members
4. Empowering the Team
Generate authority and accountability among team members as they make decisions and accomplish tasks

Participants learn and apply project leadership skills to more effectively help the team ensure project success. Leadership profiling, team-building and project communication activities provide an exciting, hands-on learning environment.

  • Learn how to work with a team through each of the team development phases

  • Recognize three modes of communication: visual, vocal and verbal
  • Understand communication styles, implement successful communication standards
  • Develop an open communication environment
  • Empower team members to accomplish project tasks
  • Learn how to use reward/recognition programs
